Willemijn was born in The Netherlands in a little town called Son en Breugel and grew up in Nuenen by Eindhoven. She studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory and graduated as Voice-teacher and Performer. She joined the intensive voice-workshops 'Estill Voice Training System' and 'The Complete Vocal Technique' and acting-workshops given by Jonna Coolen, Gosschalk/vd Ende, Guildford School of Acting and Mara Otten.
After Willemijn had been singing over more then ten years in numerous popbands as a leadsinger it was time for a change and so in the year 2000 she began her musicalcareer in the ensemble of the Joop van de Ende Musical 'Elisabeth'. In 2001-2002 she toured with the theatregroup 'JEANS' in which she was one of the eight castmembers and in 2003 Willemijn was seen as understudy 'Queen Anna' in the worldpremiere of the musical '3 Musketiers'.
The Dutch Army-Orchestra brought in 2004 a new production to the theatre called 'Eternity' in which Willemijn played the main part of 'Barbara'. At the end of that year she left for Cologne where she was seen as cover of the three main female parts 'Scaramouche', 'Killer Queen' and 'Ozzy' in the Queen musical 'We Will Rock You', directed by Ben Elton.
In the summer of 2006 she played in Thun, with the beautiful swiss mountains in the backgound, the main part in an open-air version of (again) Kunze and Levay's musical 'Elisabeth'. October that year she came back to 'We Will Rock You'-Cologne, this time to take over the part of 'Killer Queen'.
Since November 2007 Willemijn plays the role of 'Elphaba' in the musical "WICKED- die Hexen von Oz" in Stuttgart-Germany.
